Home insurance and the future of housing

Imagine a world where your new home isn’t built by bricklayers and carpenters but instead at the touch of a button on a 3D printer. Such a scenario is no longer stuck in the realms of science fiction with news that a Dutch city is to become the first in the world to create a habitable 3D printed house.

The first five smart homes in Eindhoven will be put on the rental market next year with developer Van Wijnen claiming they are the answer to the Netherlands’ bricklayer shortage as well as reducing costs and environmental damage by using less cement.
